Shri Krupa Dance Foundation of San Jose was established as a 501(c) 3 Federal Non-profit organization in 1993. The specific purposes for which this corporation is organized are to catalyze to promote and preserve the 2000-year-old classical dance form of India viz, Bharatanatyam, to provide an opportunity for all Americans to learn this art form and develop their artistic talents through this art form and to amply project and integrate this ancient art form as an accepted medium of presenting artistic expressions in America. Since its establishment, the Foundation has worked towards raising funds through various dance productions and helped several causes and other non-profit organizations. In addition, every year, Shri Krupa Dance Foundation hosts musicians from India to perform for the various stage performances done by students of Shri Krupa Dance Company under the tutelage of Smt. Vishal Ramani.
