Shri G. R. Senthilkumar
Shri. G. R. Senthilkumar has experience in the field of Mridangam for the past 20 years and was trained under the able guidance of his father Sri. G. Ramamoorthy.
He started playing Mridangam for Bharatanatyam from 1995 and has played for leading artists like Padma Bhushan Dr. Padma Subrahmanyam, kalaimamani Indra Rajan among others. He has accompanied leading vocalists as percussionist in various music organizations in Tamil Nadu. He has played mridangam for dance performances and natyanjalies conducted by various sabhas in India and abroad. He has also received recognition from All India Radio, Trichy, as a graded Artist.
He has performed for many dances like Kuchipudi, Mohini Attam and Bhagavadha mela. He has been appreciated by stalwarts like Padma Vibhushan Umayalpuram K. Sivaraman, Padma Bhushan Dr. Padma Subrahmanyam, Kalaimamani V. Chitra Visweswaran for his performances at various Bharatanatyam dance debuts.
